Bats Blistered As DuPage County Hounds Defeats Southland Vikings, 9-6

The base paths were crowded today for both offenses in a high-scoring game where DuPage County Hounds came out on top against Southland Vikings, 9-6. DuPage County Hounds took the lead for good with two runs in the fifth inning. In the fifth Stephen Mogged doubled on a 1-2 count, scoring one run and Dane Toppel singled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run. Southland Vikings scored three runs in the ninth inning. Dylan Smith, Logan Anderson, and Victor Perez all contributed in the big inning with RBIs. Alex Luka earned the victory on the pitcher's mound for DuPage County Hounds. He lasted five innings, allowing seven hits and three runs while striking out four. John Hendry took the loss for Southland Vikings. He lasted five and two-thirds innings, allowing 11 hits and six runs while striking out two and walking zero. Jesse Wainscott started the game for DuPage County Hounds. He allowed four hits and three runs over four innings, striking out ten DuPage County Hounds smacked two home runs on the day. Kennedy Phillips had a dinger in the sixth inning. Danny Gleaves went yard in the sixth inning. DuPage County Hounds tallied 14 hits in the game. Mogged, David Giuliano, Gleaves, Toppel, and Nick Bellina all had multiple hits for DuPage County Hounds. Giuliano and Mogged all had three hits to lead DuPage County Hounds.
