The Southland Vikings beat Bloomington Bobcats 6-3

Jalin McMillian collected three hits, sparking the Southland Vikings to a 6-3 victory over Bloomington Bobcats on Sunday at Hap Bruno Field.

He singled in the first and third innings and tripled in the seventh inning.

Colin Bauer got the win for the Southland Vikings. He allowed two runs over five innings. Bauer struck out five, walked three and gave up six hits.

Blade Matthews was charged with the loss. He lasted just 2 2/3 innings, walked one, struck out one, and allowed one run.

Southland Vikings closer Jaylin Davis put away the final 12 outs to record the save.

Bloomington Bobcats jumped out to an early 2-0 lead in the top of the first. A single by Pat Mollo, plating Nick Brunson started the inning off. Bloomington Bobcats then tacked on more runs when Anderson scored on an RBI single by Geno Cavalleiri.

The Southland Vikings scored one run in the second inning, and then followed it up with one more in the seventh. In the second, the Southland Vikings scored on an RBI double by Austin Lorenz, scoring Greg Alexander.

The lead stayed with the Southland Vikings after the third, when they scored four runs on an RBI double by Aaron Fuller, a fielder's choice, and two singles.

One run in the top of the ninth helped Bloomington Bobcats close its deficit to 6-3. An RBI double by Nick Brunson fueled Bloomington Bobcats' comeback. The game went final when Garrett Shea struck out.
