Vikings Defeat Admirals In Wild Game

The bats were busy at Hap Bruno Field on Sunday, and when the dust cleared the Southland Vikings had a 12-11 win over Joliet Admirals . 

The teams combined for 26 hits, including four extra base hits. 

The game was back-and-forth heading into the seventh, with six lead changes. 

The Southland Vikings took the lead in the seventh inning and held on for the victory. The Southland Vikings went up for good on a three-run single by Jordan Jackson off Tyler Paulsen, plating Chris PikoulasJeff Cardenas and Tyler Johnson

Chris Pikoulas was hot from the plate for the Southland Vikings . Chris Pikoulas went 4-5 and scored two runs. He singled in the first, fifth, and seventh innings and doubled in the eighth inning. 

Cardenas worked out of seven tough situations for the Southland Vikings . He pitched two innings and allowed no earned runs on no hits. Cardenas faced his trickiest spot in the eighth inning. 

Paulsen couldn't get it done on the rubber for Joliet Admirals , taking a loss. He lasted just two innings, walked two, struck out one, and allowed five runs. 

The top of the first saw Joliet Admirals take an early lead, 3-0. A single by Ryan Hutchinson, bringing home Micah Coffey started the inning off. Joliet Admirals pushed more runs across when Hutchinson scored on an RBI single by Jack Martin and scored on a single by Nick Allgeyer

Two the Southland Vikings baserunners came all the way around to score in each of the first, sixth and eighth. In the first, the Southland Vikings scored on an error, plating Luis Avila

The Southland Vikings brought home three runs in the second inning, and matched that run total in the seventh. In the second, the Southland Vikings scored on an RBI single by Jordan Young, bringing home Jacob Lane

After pushing across three runs in the top of the ninth, Joliet Admirals faced just a 12-11 deficit. An RBI double by John Thomas and a two-run single by Brad Groleau fueled Joliet Admirals 's comeback. Johnson ended the game by getting Danny Kelly to.
