The Southland Vikings and Northwest Indiana Oilmen both had scoring chances on Thursday, but it was the Southland Vikings that were able to capitalize on them as they pulled out a 7-5 win at Oil City Stadium.

Northwest Indiana Oilmen out-hit Southland Vikings  11 to six, but Northwest Indiana Oilmen stranded 11 runners on base. The Southland Vikings would not relinquish the lead as Northwest Indiana Oilmen was unable to weather a six-run third inning deficit.

Northwest Indiana Oilmen scored on a two-run double by Fred Smart in the sixth inning, a sacrifice fly by Zack Jones in the eighth inning, and an RBI single by Stefano Belmonte and an RBI single by Smart in the ninth inning.
