Lakers defeat Vikings 3-1By: The Southland Vikings jumped out to an early lead, but were unable to hold on and lost 3-1 to Michigan City Lakers on Saturday. While the Southland Vikings led until the seventh inning, Michigan City Lakers worked its way back and took the lead on an RBI single by Colin Willis. Colin Willis got a hit in each of his four at bats. He singled in the first, third, sixth, and seventh innings. Christian Bokich worked out of 20 difficult moments for Michigan City Lakers. He pitched nine innings and allowed no earned runs on four hits. Bokich faced his trickiest spot in the ninth inning. John Swisher handled Michigan City Lakers' lineup with ease, racking up three strikeouts. The Southland Vikings 's pitcher tossed five innings of shutout ball and allowed only five hits. The Southland Vikings scored their only run of the game on an RBI double by Jacob Lane in the second inning.
