Flossmoor takes final game and Cross Town Cup, 13-3

By:
The Flossmoor 8th Grade All Stars used 11 stolen bases and strong pitching to take down the Homewood 8th Grade All Stars 13-3 in five innings.

Flossmoor got cracking early as they were up 11-0 after two innings. They got big numbers from players like Scott Humes, Luis Delarosa and Frank Lepore. They were very aggressive on the base paths as they had nine stolen bases in those first two innings.

Homewood tried to come back and cut the lead down to eight. But it was too much to overcome as Flossmoor would add two more runs in the fourth inning and won 13-3 after the fifth inning due to the ten-run rule. Delarosa was the winning pitcher.

This is the second year of the Cross Town Classic as Flossmoor swept the series last year. Humes was named MVP as he ended the weekend going 5 for 9 with 3 RBIs at the plate. He also pitched six innings, striking out seven.
