Vikings drop third in a row

By:
A big game by Gary Mayberry dooms the Southland Vikings as they fall to the DuPage County Hounds 10-1.

Mayberry got started early with a 2-run home run in the 1st inning. In the bottom half of the inning, Joey Migliaccio cut the lead to 1 with an RBI groundout.

However, that would be it for the Vikings’ offense as Hounds’ starting pitcher Daniel Will went 6.2 innings, allowing 1 earned run on 7 hits with 5 strikeouts. Their offense would score 8 more runs after the 1st inning, mostly due to Mayberry, who went 3-3 with 2 home runs and 5 RBIs.

Tyler Willis picked up the loss, allowing 9 earned runs in 5 innings. The team will play the Northwest Indiana Oilmen for the third time in the last five days. Game starts at 7:10.
