Baker's Walk-Off Picture Perfect Ending In Northwest Indiana Oilmen's Victory Over Southland Vikings

Northwest Indiana Oilmen took Friday's game in dramatic fashion, with a 4-3 walk-off victory over Southland Vikings.

The game was tied at three with Northwest Indiana Oilmen batting in the bottom of the ninth when Chris Baker singled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run. Northwest Indiana Oilmen earned the victory despite allowing Southland Vikings to score three runs in the sixth inning.

Southland Vikings's big inning was driven by singles by Joe Curci and Logan Anderson and a sac fly by Justin Rios. Northwest Indiana Oilmen got things moving in the first inning. Northwest Indiana Oilmen scored one run when Nick Figus tripled. Northwest Indiana Oilmen evened things up at three in the bottom of the eighth inning. Figus hit a solo homer.

Pedro Rodriguez earned the victory on the hill for Northwest Indiana Oilmen. He went three innings, allowing zero runs on two hits, striking out seven and walking zero. Gil Loza took the loss for Southland Vikings. He surrendered two runs on two hits over one and one-third innings, striking out two. Alex Voss started the game for Northwest Indiana Oilmen.

He surrendered three runs on eight hits over six innings, striking out six Anthony Rogers started the game for Southland Vikings. He went seven innings, allowing two runs on three hits, striking out 12 and walking one Northwest Indiana Oilmen socked two home runs on the day. Cory Krolikowski went for the long ball in the seventh inning. Figus went deep in the eighth inning.

Figus led Northwest Indiana Oilmen with two hits in three at bats.

Southland Vikings collected ten hits on the day. Anderson, Andy Lopez, Curci, and Dashon Moore all managed multiple hits for Southland Vikings. Anderson went 3-for-4 at the plate to lead Southland Vikings in hits.

Southland Vikings didn't commit a single error in the field. Victor Perez had the most chances in the field with 14.
