DuPage County Hounds beat the Southland Vikings 6-3

Chris Macahon went 2-2 as DuPage County Hounds took home a 6-3 victory over the Southland Vikings at Lemont Sports Complex on Thursday.

He singled in the third and fourth innings.

Christian Bockich pitched lights out for DuPage County Hounds. The Southland Vikings managed just one hit off of Bockich, who allowed no earned runs, walked two and struck out five during his four innings of work.

DuPage County Hounds couldn't get anything going as long as Campe was pitching. Campe held DuPage County Hounds hitless over two innings, allowed no earned runs, walked one and struck out two.

Peter Hamot got the win for DuPage County Hounds. He allowed two runs over five innings. He struck out six, walked two and surrendered six hits.

Mario Samuel was the game's losing pitcher. He lasted just three innings, walked none, struck out two, and allowed five runs.

The top of the first saw the Southland Vikings take an early lead, 1-0. The Southland Vikings' rally started when Raphe Gross singled. A single by Jalin McMillian then moved Gross from first to second.

DuPage County Hounds never trailed after scoring two runs in the third on a two-run single by Billy Hayes.

DuPage County Hounds added three more runs in the bottom of the fourth. Zach Girard singled, scoring Macahon to start the inning. That was followed up by Dustin Krob's single, bringing home Girard.

After pushing across one run in the top of the fifth, the Southland Vikings faced just a 5-2 deficit. An RBI single by Aaron Fuller sparked the Southland Vikings' rally. Jake Hickey struck out to end the Southland Vikings threat.

The Southland Vikings scored one run in the top of the seventh to cut their deficit to two. An error triggered the Southland Vikings' comeback. But, Bockich got Fuller to strike out to end the inning.

After a quick strike from the Southland Vikings, DuPage County Hounds responded with one run in the seventh. DuPage County Hounds scored on an RBI single by Hayes.
