Vikings Rally For Win Over Snipes

The Southland Vikings and Lexington Snipes volleyed the lead five times on Tuesday, but the Southland Vikings came out on top for a 6-5 win on Tuesday at High Desert Field. The Southland Vikings finally managed to grab the lead after a strong ninth inning.

The Southland Vikings went up for good on an RBI single by Chris Stevens off Jake Sale, scoring Jacob Lane. Chris Stevens racked up three RBIs on two hits for the Southland Vikings. Matt Sandoval worked out of four difficult moments for the Southland Vikings.

He pitched five innings and allowed no earned runs on four hits. Matt Sandoval faced his toughest situation in the fifth inning. Brian Henry got the win for the Southland Vikings.

He pitched two shutout innings. Henry struck out two, walked one and gave up one hit. Sale ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with the loss. He lasted just three innings, walked one, struck out two, and allowed three runs.

The bottom of the second saw Lexington Snipes take an early lead, 1-0. Lexington Snipes got things going when Cale Robinson doubled. Lexington Snipes quickly matched the Southland Vikings 's strong inning with a four-run inning of its own in the seventh.

Lexington Snipes scored on an RBI single by Tanner Russell, an RBI single by Robinson, a sacrifice fly by Tyler Horchem, and an RBI single by Jason Priest.
